Shakir: Kexin, perhaps a good way would be for THEM to be friends on their own. You can't force two people to be friends, or to even sit with each other. But you can make them see how good the other is. Get them on friendly relations and soon enough, you'll get a chinese/indian/malay with a chinese/indian/malay friendship. It's not about the races, its about the relation. If one hates the other's guts, forget it. However, if one is normal with the other, they can be friends just by talking. Get them to talk, and get them to be friends and they'll just automatically sit with each other, no matter their race.

Ok since .. I'm bored on friday afternoons ...

And since you wanted it to get lively .. I guess I'll post some 5-minute short chapters about school life .. For e.g , 1 chap could last a week of school .. or 1 chap is 1 day. It'll depend on what happens in school 'cause i'm using material from REAL school life. That means, mocks, criticisms, weaknesses. Stuff like that.

Just to make sure no one is offended ... or think's too highly of themselves, I'm making the 3rd person-p-o-v, a 12 year old, entering the first year of his sec1 life.

BTW, will be using sec 2 people from our REAL level and put em in sec1 so I won't need to come up with names and personalities.

Everything is real. That means, certain events that ... say, Eugene getting bullied, is also posted.

Now, off with that ... The intro Chapter.

Intro Chapter

"Alex. What were your choices again?"

"Erm, first choice - Riverside, second choice - Evergreen, third choice - Christ Church, four choi-"

"I can't believe it! How can you not let my son in! He has a score of 210! That's pretty good!"

"EXPECTATIONS! MY SON WILL HELP YOUR SCHO-"

"Mam, please cal-"

"CALM DOWN?! WITH THIS NONSENSE?! NO! YOU LET MY SON EN-"

"Mam! If you don't calm down, I'll be forced to call in security and escort you out of my school!"

"HMPH! YOU KNOW NOTHING OF EXPECTATIONS! ALEC, COME WITH ME."

1 Week later

"First off, I'd like to say to our newcomers, welcome! And to our old hands - Welcome back! I hope that this year at Evergreen, we would have great moments, just like previous years! First off a few announcements by Mr Sanjay."

Looking all around him, Alex noticed that his fellow secondary 1's were all looking the same. Anxious and nervous. He looked to left of him, where sat a boy who looked rather pale.

"Hey, I'm Alex. What's your name?"

The pale boy turned to Alex and his paleness disappeared. He suddenly looked relieved and happy. "I'm Eugene. Nice to meet you."

Alex smiled and took out his hand. Eugene took it and both shook hands.

"Why were you looking so pale?"

Eugene did not answer immediately but rather beckoned Alex to lean his head closer. He whispered "well, not sounding stupid or anything ... I was scared I'd go through the first days of school without making a friend. I've already seen others talking to each other and making new friends ..."

Alex didn't think much of it. Alex had the same feeling too. "Well Eugene. I was thinking like that too. But we're both wrong. We're each other's friend now."

"Thanks .. I guess."

"No pro-"

"Yeah and I'm Shakir. Could you guys pipe down and listen to the last announcement? I mean if you don't want to, at least me listen to it. Noisy fools."

Alex rolled his eyes. A smart elect sitting right behind him. Nevertheless, he and Eugene stopped their conversation and listening to Mr Sanjay.

" ... and the orientation camp will be held next week's friday. Sec 1's will go through some orientation lessons, such as ice-break sessions. Basically to get to know their classmates better. Sec 1's will be spending 2 days and 1 night at the camp. Further information will be told by your form teachers."

Eugene turned to Alex who grinned. Both immediately shouted "Yeah! An orientation camp!" and realized they weren't the only ones celebrating. Some of the other sec 1's were cheering.

Well .... it's pretty obvious really.

"Six countries from Asia will battle it out on December 15 for the all important Asian Idol title. The network which garnered the rights to show the event in Philippine TV is ABC 5. Most people were surprised with this development. However, Perci Intalan clarified that Fremantle agreed to award ABC 5 the rights to Asian Idol so that there will be a closure to the First ever Philippine Idol. It is rumoured that the Philippine idol that will be shown in GMA 7 in February will not recognize Mau Marcelo as the first Philippine Idol.

Mau Marcelo, the first ever Philippine Idol will be competing against Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam.

The voting procedure will be same as the regular Idol show. What's interesting however is that people would have to vote for two contestants instead of one. This is accordingly to eliminate national biases. So as far as voting procedure is concerned, it's a fair game to everyone.

Then how do you define normal, when everyone is different?

Negative or positive, all answers/facts/ideas/words ... any kind of reasoning must be taken in, no matter how bloody stupid it is or no matter how freaking smart it is.

No one loses in my debates. The only reason I start debates is to get people to help me answer MY
questions. And don't worry, I have plenty of questions.

The one who loses is the one who doesn't read what we type. For everyone is a winner. Just by reading what i'm typing right now or reading something someone typed before, you gained at least some sort of knowledge of some sort of subject or some sort of wisdom.

Leon, I am not a great debater. My questions puzzle me everyday. I am someone who questions. You guys, are people who answer.

They say the man who questions is the valued man, but I say the man who answers is the wise man. For if 10 people know not an answer and you know the answer, then you'd be smarter than them, if you choose not to enlighten them.

Now back to the debate, just because you can't predict whats going to happen, doesn't mean you can't react accordingly. Things that do happen and will happen because other things happen, neither happen fast nor slow. They happen at a normal pace, of which we are used to and can answer, we are used to and know not the answer and we are used to and choose not to answer.

Things happen because you either choose to answer or not to answer. For example, if I didn't answer your debates, would this blog post happen. Nope.

Now ... next ...

Nvm. Guys, please refrain from writing thousands of words. Try imagining yourself debating and saying whatever you've typed before. Can you say what I've typed without losing breath?

Different people hold different views for each things

Ok... next time I wont give my own views about other people's views.

Just because of one phrase I kena spearhead twice by 2 posters =/.

btw I saw the phrase wrongly, because I have not changed my spectacles for quite a long time.
Anyway lets discuss about this. In my own opinion, "living life to the fullest" and "living life like theres no tomorrow" hold both different meanings.

That day, my mood got the better of me, was fuming, so type sth wrongly... no malice actually,
no offence neither. Actually even if theres no tomorrow... by bother to fret? Even time has its own path too. We all hold different aspirations and dreams, that we would set them as a priority much as anything else. Why bother to encourage people when the phrase is dead itself. It is jus that past-sages gave us these phrases was to let us unlock the essence of how life can be lived, either to the fullest or not to the fullest.

But if lets say, you intend that your everyday-life must be lived to the fullest? There are ups and downs in life, you cant predict them nor can u avoid them. Things just happen too fast for us to cope with. Lets say, a person cant live without a burger a day... but one day he did not get his burger, does that mean the day he did not get his burger indirectly refers to that he did not live his life to the fullest? What we are countering now is greed. Greed is the major essence of corruption within us, humans. But sometimes yearning for something is not really a sin. But when greed gets the better of us, its hard to say, people often do sth what they shouldnt do, eg. embezzle funds of a company, internal corrruption of a country. Greed and yearn both comes from different orgins, satisfactory often comes in first, before yearning, and lastly greed. If we force ourselves to live life to the fullest, normally we get depressed because of something we did not really complete today, as in being fedup or fuming like a red bull. The real essence that is in between this two phrases is actually greed.

If lets say, in a war, would you be a neutralist, or be proved to be hostile or be passive in many ways? Now, to speak the truth, without this concept, I guess ancient wars are acts of insanity. Debating is like a war too, as in the judges are the neutralist, and the both sides opposing each other are proved to be hostile, while the spectators are passive, in many ways. What im pointing out in this concept is that what we type must be held in extreme importance before we actually post it. Why bother to change yesterday in hope of a better tomorrow? Today is the key to everything, but still. Today will become yesterday and so forth. Thats the main reason history is affecting our life, the clock will still rotate in clockwise direction, unless u watch heroes, that weirdo actually made the clock turn anticlockwise (Unrelated issue, pay no attention xD).

Even if there is much regrets, why bother to change these things? It would make things more regrettable. Because regrets are meant to be more regrettable if u rub sth into it, resulting it to be more than of a regret, lets say, to be more precise, failing to realize your dream. We should let regrets be regrets, because we do not bear to rub salt into the wound anymore.

Shakir, you are a immense force not to be beckoned with xDD. Well actually your a great debater, in many ways, but there are loopholes in every debate, it is just up to you whether you can find those holes and go throught them. Keep the ball rolling!!

Btw, does space really matter in blogs? Well if yes, my deepest regrets, thats my bad habit in posting things. xDxD

Why would it be the end of the world if people believed in this phrase?

The phrase" live life like there's no tml" certainly didn't mean that a person

would vanish into thin air the next day.

None of us debating said that it meant that way.

Is there a diff to the two commonly said phrases?

I say, we should live life with no regrets. However, what's life, if its only a day?

What about before? Why change now? Why not change before? Why change at all?

What if, the phrase 'live life to the fullest' and the phrase 'live life like there was no tomorrow' had the same meaning? What if these two phrases actually meant that we must always strive in life in our own way, without actually not doing anything bad?

That raises another question, what is life without regrets?

'Live life with no regrets'.

Just because there isn't a tomorrow for us now, as there was yesterday, it doesn't mean we should all just start turning great people.

I think that even if there is a tomorrow, we should all still live.

How about I mix those three phrases?

"Live a full life of no regrets even if there is a tomorrow."

How about that?
